Antisocial by Mike Campau is a series of photographs on how different popular social media platforms are portrayed as a way of communicating with each other but in reality, the people using them are really isolated and antisocial. To portray this symbol, Campau has rendered these social media platform like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, and Behance, as neon signs on empty parking lots with satirical messages about each platforms real outcomes.
“Social Media is starting to get some pull back, and rightfully so. Each platform has its own problems, but all have had a large impact on society as a whole, both good and bad. Each image takes place in an empty parking lot which is a symbol of our singularly isolated posts, but placed in a location where it can be easily seen by many.” – Mike Campau
